BACOLOD CITY — The Technological University of the Philippines–Visayas (TUPV) in Talisay City, Negros Occidental is celebrating a major academic milestone after producing three topnotchers in the April 2025 Electronics Engineers Licensure Examination (EELE) and Electronics Technicians Licensure Examination (ETLE).
In the ETLE, 23-year-old classmates Jayvee Fuentebella of Bacolod City and Jan Frederick Valenton of Murcia town both ranked first with an impressive 95 percent rating.
Fuentebella, in a media interview, said he didn’t expect to top the board but felt confident during the exam.
“I give back all the glory to God,” he said, dedicating his achievement to his parents and highlighting the power of faith.
Valenton, equally surprised by the outcome, credited his success to the steadfast support of his family.
Also earning honors was Bryan Guillang, who placed eighth in the EELE with a score of 90.30 percent.
TUPV’s institutional performance also stood out nationally.
It ranked as the Top 2 Performing School in the EELE with an 88.16 percent passing rate and clinched the Top 1 spot in the ETLE with an outstanding 96.30 percent.
Out of 76 EELE takers, 67 passed, while 78 out of 81 ETLE examinees succeeded — underscoring the university’s commitment to academic excellence and industry-relevant training.
TUPV congratulated its new engineers and technicians, whose achievements marked a significant contribution to both the university and the country’s technological advancement.
TUPV alumnus Engr. Niele Shem Bañas of La Carlota City was also recognized as Top 1 in the October 2024 ETLE, after previously topping the April 2024 EELE.
