Two persons charged with rape were arrested separately on the afternoon of August 31 in Antique province.
Police identified the suspects only as alias Dagul, 22, a student, and alias Joque, 34, a farmer, both residents of Barangay Sinundolan, San Remigio town.
Members of the San Remigio Municipal Police Station, along with the Antique Police Provincial Office – Provincial Intelligence Unit (APPO-PIU) and Sibalom Municipal Police Station, apprehended Dagul around 2:27 p.m. Saturday in District I, Sibalom town.
The suspect is facing two counts of rape under Criminal Case Numbers 2024-08-11032 and 2024-08-11033.
Judge Jojo Cruz Cruzat of the Regional Trial Court 6 (RTC-6) Branch 11, San Jose, Antique, issued the arrest warrant on August 29, 2024. No bail was recommended for his temporary release.
It was reported that Dagul is the most wanted person in Western Visayas.
Meanwhile, members of the San Remigio MPS, along with APPO-PIU personnel, arrested Joque at his home in Sinundolan village around 4:46 p.m.
Joque is Dagul’s co-accused in Criminal Case No. 2024-08-11033 and is ranked as Antique’s number three most wanted person.
Both suspects are now detained, awaiting proper disposition of their cases.
