Tourism Promotions Board Wins Best Tourism Organization Award

BANGKOK—For the second consecutive year, the Tourism Promotions Board (TPB) Philippines has been named Best National Tourism Organization in Asia at the 33rd Annual TTG Travel Awards.

The event, held on Sept. 26, 2024, in Bangkok, gathered top industry leaders to celebrate excellence in travel and tourism.

Tourism Secretary Christina Garcia Frasco expressed pride in the award, highlighting the Department of Tourism (DOT) and TPB’s commitment to elevating the Philippines as a world-class destination.

“This award reflects the Department of Tourism and TPB’s unwavering dedication to positioning the Philippines as a premier destination in Asia,” Frasco said. “Under COO Marga Nograles’ leadership, TPB’s efforts have been instrumental in raising the profile of Philippine tourism globally. Their success at the Incentive Travel & Conventions Meetings Asia (IT&CMA), generating over PHP 1.7 billion in sales leads, further showcases our commitment to making the Philippines a top destination for Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions (MICE).”

The award capped TPB’s participation in IT&CMA from Sept. 24-26, 2024, where the MICE Philippines: We Take Your Business to Heart program was featured, strengthening the country’s position as a leading MICE destination. TPB was joined by 21 key players from the Philippine MICE industry.

“We are honored to be named Best National Tourism Organization again this year,” said TPB COO Nograles, who accepted the award. “This recognition is a testament to the trust travel agents around the world place in TPB. It inspires us to continue showcasing the beauty, culture, and potential of the Philippines.”

The Philippines has participated in IT&CMA since 1993, promoting the country as a leading player in Asia-Pacific MICE and corporate events. This year’s delegation was the largest TPB has led to the three-day event organized by TTG.

The TTG Travel Awards, established in 1989, are among the most prestigious in the Asia-Pacific travel industry, honoring excellence in categories that include travel suppliers and industry achievements.

The 33rd TTG Travel Awards recognized 106 winners, including Fairmont Makati for Best Hotel in Manila, Conrad Manila for Best Business Hotel in the Philippines, Okada Manila for Best Meetings and Conventions Hotel in the Philippines, and SMX Convention Center for Best Convention and Exhibition Center in the Philippines. These accolades highlight the dynamic growth of the region’s travel and tourism landscape.
