BACOLOD City – Investigators already have a lead on the identities of two persons tagged in the killing of a tractor driver in Barangay Alianza, Bago City, Negros Occidental last week.

The victim identified as Boddy Custodio, 42, of Barangay Bacong, was found lifeless yesterday, four days after he was hacked on Dec. 14.

Police Staff Sergeant Armando Arao Jr., case investigator of Bago City Police Station, said the victim visited his son at his workplace evening of Dec. 14, when the latter’s co-workers reportedly chased them.

The victim got separated from his son during the chase. The suspects, who were reportedly drunk at that time, pursued the victim until he was allegedly hacked to death.

Custodio’s family reported him missing on Dec. 17. His body was found the following day.

Arao said the suspects, whom he refused to name in the meantime, and Custodio’s son had a misunderstanding because of the suspects’ rude behavior.

“Daw ka bastos kuno mag storya parte sa asawa sang bata ka biktima,” Arao said.

Arao said that Custodio’s son and the suspects had earlier settled their conflict. But the suspects just got violent when they saw them that night.

“Wala ta kabalo sang gina paminsar sang suspects nga basi abi nila anhon sila, so gin unahan na lang nila,” the investigator said.

Arao said the victim’s family is pressing charges against the two suspects.
