Travellers International Hotel Group, Inc. (TIHGI), the owner and operator of Newport World Resorts (NWR), has appointed Nilo Thaddeus Rodriguez as President and Chief Executive Officer, and Lance Gautreaux as Chief Operating Officer, effective June 1, 2024.
These appointments mark the culmination of a year-long transition plan following Alliance Global Group, Inc. (AGI) assuming full ownership of TIHGI on May 30, 2023.
Nilo Thaddeus Rodriguez has been with NWR since August 2022, serving as Chief Strategy Officer. With over 25 years of professional experience, Rodriguez began his career with SGV & Co, a prestigious professional services firm. His international experience in the travel and hospitality sector includes nearly a decade in senior finance roles at Hilton, and Delta and Northwest airlines in Japan. Before joining TIHGI, he was Chief Financial Officer of Philippine Airlines.
Lance Gautreaux joined TIHGI in 2023 as Chief Casino Officer. He brings extensive experience in gaming and hospitality from various international jurisdictions. Gautreaux was with the Las Vegas Sands Corporation for over 12 years, holding key positions in multiple properties, including his most recent role as Chief Casino Officer of The Venetian Las Vegas.
The leadership changes follow the retirement of Kingson Sian, who served as President and CEO of TIHGI since its inception 16 years ago.
Sian, who initially planned to retire in 2022, deferred his retirement to guide the company through its transition. Also leaving their positions effective June 1, 2024, are Hakan Dagtas, former Chief Operating Officer, and Bernard Than, former Chief Financial Officer. Both were part of AGI’s former venture partner in TIHGI.
The appointments of Rodriguez and Gautreaux signal a new chapter for TIHGI as it continues to expand and innovate in the hospitality and gaming sectors. Their combined expertise is expected to drive the company’s strategic initiatives and enhance its competitive edge in the market.
