Iloilo City Mayor Jerry P. Treñas approved the allotment release order for City Hall employees’ year-end bonuses on Monday, December 23, allocating PHP 98.3 million from Supplemental Budget No. 5. The budget was approved during a special City Council session on Friday.
Regular employees will receive a PHP 20,000 Service Recognition Incentive (SRI), while Contract of Service (COS) and Job Order (JO) personnel will be granted PHP 7,000 in gratuity pay.
The incentives are part of the PHP 103,486,009.31 allocated in the supplemental budget, which also includes funds for employees from the Local Economic Enterprise Office (LEEO).
Of the total amount, PHP 40.96 million is allocated for the SRI of more than 2,000 regular employees and elected officials, while PHP 57.4 million will fund the gratuity pay of 8,200 COS and JO workers. An additional PHP 2.42 million is earmarked for 219 LEEO employees.
Administrative Order No. 28, issued by President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., specifies that gratuity pay depends on the length of service. Employees with at least four months of service will receive up to PHP 7,000, while those with less than four months will receive prorated amounts based on their tenure.
Regular employees are also set to receive a PHP 30,000 Collective Negotiation Agreement (CNA) bonus, which is currently being disbursed.
In a statement, Treñas expressed gratitude for the contributions of city employees, emphasizing their importance to Iloilo City’s progress.
“Your hard work and commitment do not go unnoticed, and you genuinely deserve this recognition. Thank you for everything you do,” he said.
Treñas also announced the forthcoming release of allowances for national government officials stationed in Iloilo City, including teachers, police officers, prosecutors, judges, court clerks, and personnel from the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), Public Attorney’s Office (PAO), and Registry of Deeds (ROD).
“These dedicated individuals are at the forefront of building a brighter Iloilo City, and it is only fitting that we provide them with the support they need to sustain their efforts. The release of these allowances is not only a financial boost but also a testament to our commitment to prioritizing education, justice, public safety, and the welfare of those who serve our community,” Treñas said.
He assured that the city government would continue exploring ways to support vital sectors, noting that investing in education, public safety, and justice contributes to Iloilo City’s future.
Treñas expressed appreciation for teachers and other public servants, hoping the financial assistance would inspire and empower them to fulfill their missions of shaping young minds, delivering justice, ensuring public safety, and nurturing future leaders.
