Tribu Sicablun Quatro Wins Dinagsa Street Dance Crown

CADIZ CITY—Tribu Sicablun Quatro of Barangays Sicaba, Luna, and Zone 4 claimed the championship title in this year’s Dinagsa Festival street dance competition on Sunday, January 26.

The highly anticipated event drew hundreds of thousands of spectators who witnessed Tribu Sicablun Quatro outshine seven other tribes in a tense and dynamic contest.

The tribe delivered an unprecedented and captivating performance, dethroning last year’s champion, Tribu Bucad Cadiz Viejo, representing Barangays Burgos, Caduhaan, and Cadiz Viejo.

Tribu Sicablun Quatro took home the grand prize of PHP 200,000 and an additional PHP 50,000 for winning two minor awards: Best in Costume and Best in Choreography.

TOP PLACERS

Second place went to Tribu Tinambi-Tres, representing Barangays Tinampaan, Mabini, and Zone 3. The tribe also won Best in Performance and received PHP 175,000 in cash prizes.

Tribu Bucad Cadiz Viejo, the former champion, secured third place and won the Best in Sound and Rhythm award, earning a total of PHP 125,000 in cash prizes.

Tribu Hitalon, representing Barangays Zone 1 and Zone 6, landed in fourth place and was recognized as the Most Disciplined Tribe, receiving PHP 100,000 in total prizes.

Four tribes were named consolation winners, each receiving PHP 50,000:

  • Tribu Vilgus of Barangays Celestino Villacin and V.F. Gustilo.
  • Tribu Yabyab Dungol of Barangays Zone 2 and Zone 5.
  • Tribu Majeca of Barangays Magsaysay, Jerusalem, and Cabahug.
  • Tribu Tibanda of Barangays Tiglawigan, Banquerohan, and Daga.

Cadiz City Mayor Salvador Escalante Jr. praised all the participating barangays for their exceptional performances in this year’s competition, themed “Dinagsa Goes International.”

“They all manifested the culture, compassion, and mindset of excellence,” Escalante said.

The mayor also highlighted the synergy and dynamism demonstrated by the competing tribes, emphasizing their faith and devotion to the city’s patron, Sto. Niño de Cadiz, as the heart of the annual Dinagsa Festival.
