BACOLOD CITY – Tragedy marked Palm Sunday in Barangay San Agustin, Isabela, Negros Occidental, when a 43-year-old tricycle driver was stabbed to death following a dispute.
The local police have not disclosed the victim’s name. Reports indicate the incident occurred as the victim was passing by the barangay’s covered court after leaving his sister’s residence.
He encountered a 27-year-old individual who attacked him, resulting in a fatal chest wound, and then escaped.
Despite being quickly transported to the Ignacio Lacson Arroyo Memorial District Hospital, the victim succumbed to his injuries.
Town police chief Captain Ar-jay Dangarang noted the conflict originated the previous night during a local disco.
“They just bumped into each other at the disco night,” he explained, clarifying that alcohol was not a factor during the morning incident.
The suspect remains at large, with police investigations ongoing.
