A tricycle driver accused of sexually molesting a young girl was arrested on the morning of June 19 in Molo, Iloilo.

Police identified the suspect as alias Alog, 59, a resident of Arevalo district who is temporarily residing in Molo.

Members of the Iloilo City Police Station 6, together with the Iloilo City Mobile Force Company, arrested the suspect by virtue of an arrest warrant for two counts of statutory rape, docketed under Criminal Case Numbers 24-91873 and 24-91874.

Judge Elijo Sharon Ronzales Herrera-Bellones of the Regional Trial Court 6 (RTC-6) Branch 27, Iloilo City, issued the arrest warrant on June 6, 2024. No bail was recommended for his temporary liberty.

The suspect is the eighth most wanted person in Iloilo City. He was hauled to court for allegedly molesting his former live-in partner’s daughter.

Alog claimed the incident happened several years ago and that he was jailed after the complaint was made.

However, no case was immediately filed against him. He was released from jail while the girl was temporarily placed in the custody of the Department of Social Welfare and Development. The case was eventually filed against him in court.

Alog is now detained and will be turned over to the concerned court.
