A tricycle driver was arrested during a police anti-drug operation on the evening of Jan. 13 in Leganes, Iloilo.
Police identified the suspect only as alias Lester, 31, a resident of Barangay Cari Mayor, Leganes.
Officers from the Leganes Municipal Police Station apprehended the suspect after he sold a sachet of suspected shabu for PHP 1,500.
During a frisk, authorities recovered seven additional sachets of suspected shabu, a black belt bag, a coin pouch, PHP 340 in cash, and his tricycle.
Leganes police chief Captain General Enrique Robles said the seized drugs weighed about 30 grams, with an estimated street value of PHP 204,000.
Robles noted that the suspect was first monitored engaging in illegal drug activities in November 2024.
However, police have not yet disclosed the source of the illegal drugs.
The suspect is currently detained and faces charges for violating Republic Act 9165, also known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
