No one was injured in a five-vehicle smash-up in Pavia, Iloilo morning of May 3, 2021.

Police reports indicated that traffic was at a full stop when a six-wheeler truck loaded with sand and gravel hit a Mitsubishi Lancer sedan.

Truck driver Ronald Enderes, 32, Barangay Amurao, Cabatuan, Iloilo, said his brakes failed, causing his vehicle to crash into the sedan, which was on a complete stop.

Enderes came from Cabatuan and was on his way to Barangay Balabago, Jaro, Iloilo City when the incident happened.

After hitting the sedan, the latter bumped into a Honda XR motorcycle and a Mitsubishi Strada pick-up.

It also slightly hit a passenger jeepney.

Staff Sergeant Christian Lloyd Gumban, Pavia police investigator, said the motorcycle driver, John Albert Nagorite, 28, a native of Negros Occidental but is temporarily residing in Janiuay, Iloilo, only complained of pain on his knee.

Gumban said all drivers involved, except for the jeepney, which suffered minor damage, agreed to amicably settle the matter.
