Two brothers killed, aunt hurt in road crash

BACOLOD City – Two brothers were killed while their aunt was injured after their motorcycle collided with a truck at Hacienda Sto. Niño, Barangay Jerusalem, Cadiz City, Negros Occidental last Friday.

Police identified the fatalities as Rolly Sapangila, 35; and his brother Alvin Sapangila, 22, both residents of Barangay Cabahug.

Wounded was their Aunt Lolita Daog, 56, of Barangay Jerusalem.

Based on the police investigation, the motorcycle driven by Rolly reportedly encroached the lane of a truck loaded with sugarcane and driven by 39-year-old Richard Taladro, while approaching a road curve.

The three victims were taken to a hospital, but the Sapangila brothers were pronounced dead on arrival.

Police said the motorcycle was on its way to Barangay Jerusalem Proper while the truck was traveling on the opposite direction towards Central Lopez in Sagay City when the accident occurred.
