TWO call center agents were arrested in separate anti-illegal drug operations evening of Monday, January 7, at Barangay San Jose, Arevalo, Iloilo City.
Police identified the suspects as Sheena Amleah Salcedo, 28, is Barangay Sta. Cruz, Arevalo, and Josef Kristopher Vinco, 21, of Barangay West Timawa, Molo, Iloilo City.
Salcedo was arrested 9:24 in the evening after she allegedly sold a sachet of suspected shabu.
Superintendent Rogen Morales, chief of the Iloilo City Police Office – City Drug Enforcement Unit (ICPO-CDEU), said anti-narcotics policemen further yielded from her two sachets with street value of P16,000.
Morales said Salcedo is a newly-identified drug personality.
In less than an hour, members of the Iloilo City Police Station 6 arrested Vinco and recoverys from him three sachets of suspected and cash of P1,100.
Just like Salcedo, Vinco is also a newly-identified drug personality.
Inspector Benjie Ballejera, Arevalo police chief, said that while the suspect is a resident of Molo, intelligence operatives learned that he was dealing drugs in Arevalo district.
Both Morales and Ballejera said it is possible that the suspects primary customers are their co-workers.
Were not saying that there a lot of call center agents who are into drugs, but we believe that there are some who are into occasional use of shabu, Morales said.
Based on police investigation, Salcedo got his supply from Bacolod City.
Usually, the two suspects do their trade through phone and will not sell to strangers.
Salcedo and Vinco are now detained and will be charged for violation of Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002).
