Two cops test positive for COVID

BACOLOD City – Two more personnel of the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (NOCPPO) here tested positive for coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).

According to Lieutenant Abegael Donasco, NOCPPO’s Deputy Public Information Officer, one of the two cops was assigned to Don Salvador Benedicto (DSB) town.

The 34-year-old non-commissioned police officer from DSB was tagged as asymptomatic, according to a post from the local government unit on Facebook.

Donasco said they learned about the cop’s case on January 23, 2021 while the other cop was reported infected on January 22.

Both are currently under quarantine while contact tracing is ongoing.

They were the new COVID cases among NOCPPO personnel this year.

Donasco said NOCPPO has a total of 40 COVID cases, including 38 recoveries, as of January 23.
