BACOLOD CITY—A call center agent and a man died, while two motorcycle riders were injured in separate road accidents in Bacolod City and Negros Occidental on Wednesday and Thursday.

In Bacolod, Jonalyn Lamis, 26, of Candoni town, died after being run over by a 10-wheeler truck on Burgos Extension, Barangay Estefania, around 5:05 a.m. Wednesday.

According to the Traffic Enforcement Unit (TEU), Lamis was riding on a motorcycle driven by her live-in partner, Rexis Gallano, when they attempted to overtake the truck but collided with another motorcycle driven by Lloyd Arca of Barangay Alangilan.

The collision caused Lamis to fall off and get run over by the truck, driven by a 54-year-old man from Oton, Iloilo.

Lamis succumbed to severe injuries in a hospital at 12:20 p.m. Both motorcycle drivers sustained minor injuries.

Authorities are waiting for the victim’s family to decide on filing a case, according to TEU investigator Sgt. Sarona.

In another incident on Thursday in Silay City, Niño Golez of Barangay Mambulac died after falling from a tricycle at Hacienda Daniel, Barangay E. Lopez, around 9:30 a.m.
