BACOLOD City – Police arrested two former persons deprived of liberty (PDLs) for alleged possession of 20 grams of suspected shabu worth P136,000 in a buy-bust operation at Purok Hollow Blocks, Barangay Singcang-Airport here yesterday.
Police identified the subject as Carlan John Mendoza, 40, of Barangay Vista Alegre here, and Arjie Tornilla, 27, of Barangay 16 here.
Police Major Joery Puerto, head of Police Station 8, said Mendoza was also arrested for a drug offense in 2018 and was released in October this year after serving his sentence.
Puerto said that Tornilla was also previously arrested for robbery and was later released after serving his sentence for the said offense.
Mendoza is considered a high-value individual, while Tornilla is a street-level individual, according to the police.
Police also recovered from them the P500 marked money.
Puerto said that Tornilla reportedly just accompanied Mendoza to meet up with a police agent during the transaction.
“Nag score siya (Tornilla) then gin updan niya lang dul-ong si Mendoza pag meet up,” he added.
Puerto said that Mendoza will be charged for the sale and illegal possession of dangerous drugs, while Tornilla will be facing charges for illegal possession of dangerous drugs.
