ROXAS CITY, Capiz – Two persons are facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002) after they were arrested in a drug buy-bust operation Saturday afternoon at the boundary of Barangays Milibili and Lawaan here.
The charges will be filed against Gilbert Marcelino, 38, of Barangay Tanza and James Villareal, 29, of Barangay Bolo.
Police Master Sergeant Ramil Arcangeles, spokesperson of the Roxas City Police Station, said it took two months of monitoring and surveillance before the operation was conducted.
He said the suspects attempted to fight back but the arresting officers discouraged them with a warning shot.
Recovered from the suspects were 11 sachets of suspected shabu weighing 15 grams and valued at P195,000.
Aside from the illegal drugs, also recovered from the suspects were the P29,000 boodle or fake money; P1,000 marked money; and drug paraphernalia.
The suspects are detained at the Roxas City police station.
