Members of the Philippine women’s national football team Cathrine Graversen and Eva Madarang will carry the banner of the country as they set foot in the Italian Serie B football league.
Graversen signed with ASD Calcio Pomigliano while Madarang earned a contract with the Roma Calcio Femminile and both are already excited to contribute to their teams in the second-tier football league.
Madarang, the 23-year-old PH women’s striker, is looking forward to showing her craft in finding the back of the net and is eager to show Italy how she improved her passing game.
“A goal of mine would definitely be to obviously do well in the league. I hope I can score some goals and have some assists to help my team move up, and hopefully get promoted to Serie A,” said Madarang.
When asked if what would be the feeling if she and her national teammate Graversen would go face-to-face in one of the league matches, Madarang said, “It was just interesting to see that Cathrine was here, I had no idea. I was like, whoa, what are the chances.”
Meanwhile, Graversen, who plays as a national team defender, is aiming to help improve her team’s record in the Italian Serie B and make waves together with Madarang.
