BACOLOD City – Two persons suffered minor injuries after a sports utility vehicle (SUV) crashed into a row of cars and motorcycles parked in front of a building along Araneta Street, Barangay Singcang-Airport here last Wednesday.
Captain Glenn Montaño, head of Police Station 8, said that a 36-year-old former overseas Filipino worker (OFW) was on his way home on board his SUV when he allegedly dozed off while tailing a motorcycle in Barangay Tangub here.
The OFW failed to notice that he sideswiped the motorcycle, and continued driving until he again dozed off upon reaching the flyover along Araneta Street, according to Montaño.
Montaño said the SUV driver swerved the vehicle to the right to avoid another motorcycle he was tailing, but he crashed into a row of cars and motorcycles parked in the area.
Montaño said the OFW came from a friend’s birthday party in the southern part of the province.
He said there was already an initial settlement among the parties involved, and the OFW has assured assistance to the owners of the damaged vehicles.
