BACOLOD City – Two persons were murdered in separate shooting incidents here and in Negros Occidental in the past two days.

In Bacolod, Lito Barbon, 30, of Barangay 13 here was shot dead by an unidentified man outside his house yesterday.

Police Major Ramel Sarona, head of Police Station 1, said that Barbon was about to go inside his house after taking a bath when the perpetrator shot him from behind.

Barbon succumbed to a lone gunshot wound in the head.

Police recovered from the scene an empty shell of an alleged .45-caliber ammunition.

Prior to the shooting, Sarona said that a commotion happened in the area earlier that day involving Barbon.

Sarona said they are eyeing something “personal” as motive for the killing, but he did not elaborate.

He added that they already have a lead on the perpetrator.

Sarona said Barbon was recently jailed for alarm and scandal and was usually complained for the said offense.

Meanwhile, in Toboso town, Dionie Dada, 43, of Barangay Bandila was also gunned down by three unidentified men at the said village last Tuesday.

Police Captain Kenneth Paul Magan, town police chief, said Dada was on his way home when he sighted from afar the armed men waiting outside his house.

Magan said Dada ran but the suspects chased and shot him to death.

Police recovered from the scene four cartridges of 5.56-caliber ammunition.

Magan said they have yet to determine the motive, as the victim, who was a farmer, had no record with the police and the barangay.
