Two nabbed for selling ‘overpriced’ alcohol, thermal scanner

BACOLOD City – Two persons were arrested by police in an entrapment operation for allegedly selling overpriced alcohol and thermal scanner in Sibulan, Negros Oriental on Thursday.

Police identified the suspects as Pejelan Tan, and Cindy Alejaga, both residents of Barangay Tubtubon.

Based on the report of the Negros Oriental Police Provincial Office (Norppo), the suspects violated Republic Act 7581 or The Price Act.

The province is placed on Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ) due to the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic.

Authorities are strictly monitoring the selling of these items as they are currently considered essential in the height of the COVID-19 threat.
