BACOLOD City – Two of the four policemen in Negros Occidental who failed a drug test went absent without official leave (Awol).
This was confirmed on Sunday by Police Lieutenant Colonel Joem Malong, spokesperson of Police Regional Office (PRO)-6.
Malong said that the two police officers from Candoni and Binalbagan Municipal Police Stations did not report to the Personnel Holding and Accounting Unit (PHAU).
“They were earlier disarmed and were transferred to PHAU, but they failed to report for more than 30 days,” he added.
Malong said the two policemen will face additional administrative charges for their offense.
Meanwhile, Malong said the two other cops with drug offenses were from Manapla town and Escalante City.
Of the four of them, Malong said that one challenged the drug test result, while two others did not contest their results, and the other one is now facing a pre-charge investigation.
As of this month, five cops in PRO-6 tested positive for drug use, including one in Iloilo province, according to Malong.
