ROXAS CITY, Capiz – Two friends who were caught in an entrapment operation Friday afternoon last week are facing charges for illegal gun and drug selling.

The Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) in Capiz is expected to file charges for violations of Republic Act 10591 or Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act against Roberto Lumayag, 40, of Barangay 1 and Christian Diaz, 37, of Barangay Banica here.

Lumayag and Diaz were caught in a sting operation at Barangay Dinginan, Roxas City.

Lumayag will also be charged before the Roxas City Prosecutors Office for violations of RA 9165 or Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 after suspected illegal drugs were recovered from him.

During the entrapment operations, police seized two .38-caliber revolvers with 5 live ammunition and the P5,400 marked money.

The police also recovered from Lumayag two sachets of suspected shabu.

The two failed to present valid permits for the guns.

Police Major Chris Arthemeus Deveras, CIDG-Capiz chief, said they have been monitoring the activities of the two suspects that led to the bust.

The two strongly denied they were into the illegal gun trade. But Lumayag admitted he used illegal drugs before.

They are presently detained at the CIDG-Capiz.
