Two security guards yield ‘shabu’, violate community quarantine

BACOLOD City – Two security guards were arrested after they were caught violating the quarantine protocols and for allegedly possessing illegal drugs at Barangay 5, San Carlos City, Negros Occidental Saturday.

Police identified the suspects as Eduardo Sondrezo, 30, of Barangay Dos, Hinoba-an town; and Ricky Nepal Jr., 29, of Barangay Su-ay, Himamaylan City, who are both working as guards in a power plant in the city.

Policemen who were conducting mobile patrol in the area sighted the two suspects on board a motorcycle, not wearing face masks and not observing social distancing as part of the protocols while the province is under Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ) at the height of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic, police records showed.

Sondrezo was also caught allegedly throwing a sachet of suspected shabu worth P240.

Both suspects are detained at San Carlos City Police Station.
