BACOLOD City -Two persons were gunned down by a man who also got injured when hacked by one of the victims’ father at Sitio Huwebisan, Barangay Marcelo, Calatrava, Negros Occidental last Sunday.

Killed in the shooting incident were Jemar Jemida, 34, and Roberto Sanopao Jr., 32.

Police Major Roberto Indiape Jr., said the two victims were resting inside a store when the suspect identified as 28-year-old Jerone Baynosa allegedly shot Jemida with a .38-caliber revolver, hitting his head and body.

Sanopao saw the incident and tried to pacify Baynosa but he fell to the ground when he tried to reach for the gun, Indiape said.

Baynosa then also allegedly shot Sanopao’s chest, he added.

Sanopao’s father reportedly hacked Baynosa when he witnessed the incident.

Baynosa tried to shoot Sanopao’s father but he failed, prompting him to escape with a hack wound.

Sanopao and Jemida were brought to a hospital, where they were declared dead.

Indiape said Baynosa, who is still at large, reportedly committed the crime out of “tripping.”

“Kadamo na reklamo sa iya pero wala gaka file ang kaso,” he said, adding that Baynosa was even involved in a stabbing incident previously.
