Two suspects in the armed robbery of a gasoline station in Cabatuan, Iloilo late afternoon of Oct. 6 have been identified.

Captain Dionisio Estacio, Cabatuan police chief, said one of the suspects is from Calinog town.

He is about 40 to 45 years old and was the one who drove the getaway motorcycle.

The other suspect, who is around 30 to 40 years old, is from San Rafael town,

“We’re still gathering information on the identity of the third suspect,” Estacio said.

But whether the third suspect would be identified, he added they would still be filing the case this week.

The group is not deemed organized but investigators believed that the robbery was planned.

A motorcycle with the same description was seen in the area prior to the robbery.

The suspects were able to cart some P20,000 from the RT Gasoline Station along the bypass road at Barangay Ayaman, Cabatuan.

As shown on the CCTV camera, the three suspects alighted from the motorcycle when they had it filled up.

The female gas attendant thought that one of the men pulled out his wallet to pay.

But instead of paying her, the man pulled a gun and declared the heist.

One of the suspects then went to the cashier’s booth and took their earnings.

The suspects then boarded the motorcycle and fled towards Janiuay town.

It was noted that the same gasoline station was also ransacked on Feb. 15, 2023.

There were four suspects who were all minors at the time of the incident. But only one was identified.

The suspects carted away P46,000 from the station.
