BACOLOD CITY – Two tricycle drivers in Escalante City, Negros Occidental surrendered to the police last Saturday to clear their names after they were allegedly linked to a drug group and criminal gang.
Police Captain Lindsey Caraballe, deputy chief of Escalante City Police Station, said the tricycle drivers, aged 28 and 41, were alleged members of a drug group, which is also a sub-group of a criminal gang.
Caraballe said these individuals are included in the watchlist of drug personalities in the city, prompting the police to conduct intelligence monitoring on them until they were convinced to surrender.
He, however, said they are still checking their backgrounds for any previous offenses.
Caraballe noted that the police can assist them in conducting a drug test for adjudication and delisting of their names. However, they will still be placed under monitoring.
