ROXAS CITY, Capiz – Two persons wanted for homicide and child abuse were arrested Thursday in separate operations.
The joint team of Sigma town police, 2nd Capiz Provincial Mobile Force Company (PMFC) and Provincial Intelligence Unit (PIU) of Capiz Police Provincial Office (CPPO) nabbed Christian Belarmino, 19, of Brgy. Mangoso Sigma, Capiz at Poblacion Norte, Sigma.
Belarmino is facing a homicide charge with a P120,000 bail for his temporary liberty.
Regional Trial Court Judge Rommel Lacson Leonor of Branch 21 of Mambusao, Capiz issued the arrest warrant.
Belarmino is one of the suspects that killed a former village chief of Barangay Mangoso, Sigma and a barangay tanod in May 2021.
Belarmino denied the accusation claiming that he voluntarily surrendered to the police in Sigma.
Meanwhile, a 47-year-old man was arrested by Jamindan police at Brgy. Agcagay, Jamindan for child abuse.
Arcenio Ubales did not resist when the warrant for his arrest was served to him.
The suspect was charged for violation of Republic Act 7610 (Special Protection of Children Against Abuse, Exploitation and Discrimination Act) and considered one of the most wanted persons in Jamindan.
Judge Leonor also issued the warrant on Jan 10, 2022 with a P200,000 recommended bail.
Ubales is presently in the custody of the Jamindan police.
