BACOLOD City – Police arrested two male teenagers, including a minor, wanted for statutory rape in separate areas in Negros Occidental last Thursday.
In Victorias City, a 17-year-old boy tagged as the top 2 most wanted person (MWP) in the city was arrested in Barangay 10.
The arrest warrant with no bail recommended was issued by Presiding Judge Dyna Doll Chiongson Trocio of Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 40 in Silay City on January 24, 2024, based on a report from Police Regional Office (PRO)-6.
In Hinoba-an town, police also served an arrest warrant for the same offense against a 19-year-old boy tagged as the top 6 MWP in Barangay Damutan.
The arrest warrant with no bail recommended was issued by Presiding Judge Edwin Balanday of Branch 77 in Sipalay City on December 18, 2023.
Police Brigadier General Sidney Villaflor, director of PRO-6, said their commitment to upholding justice and protecting the community remains steadfast.
He commended the swift and decisive action of the police in apprehending individuals involved in sex crimes.
“We will continue working tirelessly to ensure justice is served, sending a strong message that our region stands united against any form of violence,” Villaflor said.
