After signing a deal with Cignal TV as UAAP’s new broadcast home, they are also planning to explore the digital platform by closing ties with Smart Communications.
The newest partnership will allow the UAAP games to be streamed live and will have a more-in-depth system.
“As UAAP’s digital partner, Smart embraces this opportunity not just to bring the games to more Filipinos but also help bring the passion for sports to many especially during these challenging times,” said PLDT chief revenue officer and Smart president and CEO Al Panlilio.
UAAP’s recent collaborations involved deals closed with Cignal, Smart, and One Sports and plans will soon be materialized once Season 83 is ready.
In the recent development announced by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED), they are already drafting the proposed collegiate bubble special for the resumption of their training.
However, scrimmages, games, and group practices are still prohibited until further notice by the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF).
“Bringing UAAP right at the fingertips of more Filipinos is aligned with our commitment to simply give our customers exactly what they want and enable them to pursue their passions through cutting-edge digital technology,” said Jane J. Basas, SVP and head of consumer wireless business at Smart.
