Due to the cancellation of classes and UAAP activities brought by the COVID-19 pandemic, the UAAP tournament board also agreed to cancel all sporting operations for Season 82.

With National Capital Region (NCR) under Public Health Emergency due to COVID-19’s effect, the UAAP tournament board has decided to move the start of the Season 82 sporting activities.

During their meeting, it was tackled that the most ideal date for the start of the new season would be in May, a month after the temporary suspension of city activities.

Although class suspension will be up to April 15, 2020, the UAAP management cannot risk to start the UAAP festivities in the same month.

Currently, UAAP season 82 games already started with volleyball and football playing three times but was stopped after the decision, and teams are completely fine with it.

“We will continue to coordinate with lead government agencies to determine the protocols for the safety of everyone in or connected with the UAAP community,” the statement signed by UAAP President Emmanuel Fernandez and Executive Director Atty. Rebo Saguisag.
