University of the East (UE) Red Warriors superstar point guard Rey Remogat confirmed that he will be announcing his decision regarding his basketball future this week.
After rumors spread that he would be transferring to the University of the Philippines (UP) Fighting Maroons several days ago, the UAAP Season 86 Mythical Team member addressed the issue and said that there is no final verdict yet regarding his next move.
Remogat was present during the PBA Commissioner’s Cup semifinal clash between the Magnolia Hotshots and the Phoenix Fuel Masters. He was then flocked by reporters who interviewed him about his current basketball status.
According to Remogat, the final decision on whether he will be staying with the UE Red Warriors or transferring to a different league will be announced this week.
Remogat said that aside from other schools, a handful of overseas offers also came up after his stellar UAAP stint.
Despite UE not making the Final Four, Remogat quickly cemented his name as one of the best guards in the UAAP after averaging 16.5 points, 7.9 assists, and 6.4 rebounds.
Remogat stole the limelight the moment he donned the UE jersey in the first game of the UAAP Season 86 when he steered the Red Warriors to a stunning victory over the UST Growling Tigers.
After his fantastic debut, Remogat continued to put up stellar numbers for UE and helped them put up good fights against the Ateneo de Manila University and the National University (NU) Bulldogs.
If Remogat transfers to another UAAP school, he will have to serve a one-year residency and will be eligible to play in Season 88.
