BACOLOD City – Police have yet to identify a man who was found dead inside a sack in Barangay Damsite, Murcia, Negros Occidental yesterday.
Police Major Joeil Reclamado, town police chief, said the sack was dumped in a concrete pipe in the same area where human skeletons were also found early this month.
Reclamado said the same suspects could have stashed the two sets of human remains, or it could be incidental.
Reclamado said the body was already bloated, thus police could not determine the injuries of the victim. He said they are waiting for the report from the Scene of the Crime Operatives (SOCO).
Reclamado believed that the man, who was naked when found, was a victim of summary execution, based on the circumstances surrounding his death.
The remains remained unclaimed as of 5 p.m. on March 31.
Meanwhile, Police Captain Greeky Cayao, head of Police Station 4, said that they still have yet to identify the owner of the severed human feet sealed in plastic bags that were left outside an establishment in Barangay Villamonte last Thursday.
Cayao said that based on a copy of a closed circuit television (CCTV) camera, a motorcycle was sighted in the area but they could not clearly see how many persons were there, prior to its discovery.
Four businessmen who were tagged in smuggling as suggested by a note that was left along with the severed feet already gave their statements to the police.
Cayao said that it was the first incident that happened to them, and they have not encountered any threats previously.
He said that these persons interpreted it as harassment on their part. They urged the police to dig deeper into their investigation.
