As a prelude to its 120th founding anniversary, the University of San Agustin (USA) Iloilo, in collaboration with Museo Iloilo, USA High School Class of ’72 Alumni, and the Rotary Club of Metro Iloilo, organized a series of heartfelt activities under the theme “A Gift.”
These events aim to celebrate the university’s historical milestone and its dedication to the common good.
On June 17, Museo Iloilo, led by philanthropist and art patroness Gina Sarabia-Espinosa, hosted a free summer workshop titled “Helping Hand” for talented children. The workshop provided hands-on lectures and training in painting by renowned artists from Finale Art Gallery. This initiative aimed to nurture the artistic talents of young participants.
The same day featured a children’s party and gift-giving event for day care children from Brgy. Banuyao in the Lapaz district. The children enjoyed a festive atmosphere with party snacks and received educational books and school supplies. The Philippine National Red Cross Iloilo Chapter also participated in this noble celebration.
Gina Sarabia-Espinosa expressed her sentiments, saying, “May this noble celebration serve as a reminder to us all, not only of the best things and experiences of the past, but also to help us fulfill the mission of University of San Agustin’s historical milestone, which is dedication for the common good, a testament to the transformative power of education that provides hearty smiles to the children with silver lining.”
