BIKERS, get your pedals ready.

Validus Amicitia, a fraternity in the University of the Philippines in the Visayas, will hold a biking event in Iloilo City today.

Assembly time will start at 2 p.m. at Iloilo UPV City Campus Flagpole Area.

Vaykfest is a fun-ride around Iloilo City that promotes fitness, well-being, being healthy, and disciplined.

Biking routes of the event will start in UP, Plaza Libertad, La Paz Plaza, Jaro, Bike Lane, then back to UP quadrangle.

After finishing the fun-ride, special awards and special raffle prizes will be given awarded to the participants.

The event offers free registration with participants receiving free snacks as well.

VA chair Nathaniel Cornelio said the aim of the event is to promote healthy lifestyle.

“Through the years the UP Validus Amicitia Brotherhood has been promoting sustainable living and active lifestyles, with VaykFest, the brotherhood aims to help lessen our carbon footprints, promote using bikes as an alternative form of transportation and of course show the beauty of Iloilo City,” Cornelio added.
