USAID and PBEd’s YouthWorks PH Project produce 27 graduates on Automotive Servicing in CDO

TWENTY-SEVEN trainees of the YouthWorks PH project completed the technical training on Automotive Servicing in Cagayan de Oro (CDO) last April 14, 2023.

YouthWorks PH, a youth employability project is a partnership between United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and Philippine Business for Education (PBEd). YouthWorks PH’s institution partner for Automotive Servicing  is Crossroads Training Institute (CTI) and its company partner is Greencars Mindanao Corporation in Cagayan de Oro City.

For those who are interested to avail of the program, the criteria are as follows:

  1. At least 18-30 years old on the day of application;
  2. Currently not in employment, education,or training; and
  3. At least high school graduates in the old curriculum  or grade 10 completers in the new curriculum.

USAID Office of Education Director Thomas LeBlanc who graced the graduation ceremony stressed, “USAID engages youth in rural and urban communities who are not in education, employment or training.  We join with local governments, the private sector, and training institutions to build upon and leverage each other’s efforts so that we can expand opportunities for Filipino youth as they prepare to enter the workforce even in the most challenging of times.”

“We are truly proud of our graduates being one step closer to what they want to become. Last month we welcomed more than 100 graduates from Bulacan and are now employed as construction professionals. This is what YouthWorks PH is all about- leading the youth to the fruition of their dreams for their families and communities,” added Rhea Peñaflor, YouthWorks PH Chief of Party.
