USLS ready for 71st Handumanan Week on July 3-7

The University of St. La Salle (USLS) is gearing up for its highly anticipated 71st Handumanan Week celebration, scheduled from July 3 to July 7.

This annual Lasallian tradition commemorates the University’s founding in 1952 and serves as a time to honor its identity, rich history, and achievements.

With the theme “Lasallian DNA: 71 years of Service and Excellence,” this year’s Handumanan Week highlights the University’s commitment to making a positive impact on society while upholding its tradition of excellence.

Over the past seven decades, USLS has been at the forefront of various projects and activities, advocating for social justice and care for marginalized communities.

The week-long celebration will begin with a Mass at the Montelibano Chapel on July 3, followed by the official launch at the Handumanan Park.

The festivities will continue with engaging events such as the Lasalliana Exhibit at the Museo De La Salle, honoring of its Service Awardees, the 71st Handumanan Tree Planting, Lasallian Community Games featuring basketball, volleyball, and lawn tennis, an amazing race organized by its student government, and many more.

The highlight of the celebration will be the Thanksgiving Mass at the St. La Salle Coliseum on July 7, followed by special ceremonies honoring the Class of 1973 Golden Jubilarians.

Additionally, the much-anticipated “Reliving the Animo” birthday celebration, organized by the  Artists’ Hub, will gather the USLS community at the Handumanan Park at 4 pm on July 7.

The Handumanan Week activities aim to pay tribute to the past, foster a sense of community, celebrate achievements, and instill the Lasallian spirit of excellence in all endeavors.

Students, faculty, staff, and alumni are invited to partake in the festivities and witness the vibrant traditions of USLS.
