In a bid to promote sustainable development, Uswag Ilonggo Partylist Representative Jojo Ang, in partnership with TESDA Regional Director Evan Ruiz, awarded national certifications to 2,300 tech-skills scholars during a ceremony on December 16 at the Iloilo Convention Center.
The event was also supported by Iloilo Gov. Arthur “Toto” Defensor Jr., Uswag Ilonggo regional chairman, and Iloilo City Mayor Jerry Treñas.
TESDA Iloilo Provincial Director Ester Babalo, Guimaras Provincial Director Jonathan Togonon, and heads of various partner schools recognized top-performing scholars in their respective courses.
A separate graduation event was held last week at Dinggoy Civic Center in Roxas City, Capiz, led by Mayor Ronnie Dadivas.
Graduates completed training in various courses, including Events Management Services NC III, Bread and Pastry Production NC II, Computer System Servicing NC II, Organic Agriculture Production NC II, Agro-entrepreneurship NC II, Barista NC II, and Heavy Equipment Operation for Wheel Loader and Bulldozer NC II.
Other programs included Hilot (Wellness Massage) NC II, Driving (Passenger Bus/Straight Truck) NC III, and Caregiving NC III.
In Capiz, skills programs covered Housekeeping NC II, Food and Beverage Services NC II, Ships Catering Service NC II, Wellness Massage NC II, and Driving (Straight Truck) NC III.
“Kabay pa magamit niyo gid ang inyo mga na-angkon nga ihibalo kag kaalam para sa kaayuhan sang inyo pamilya. Suportahan gid namon kamo sa inyo paghandum kag paglakat sa dalan sang kauswagan,” Ang said.

The ceremony also marked the launch of the Uswag Ilonggo-TESDA Alumni Organization, designed to create connections and provide further opportunities for graduates with the support of Uswag Ilonggo.
In addition to the graduation ceremonies, Uswag Ilonggo Partylist was recognized as one of the top partners and benefactors during TESDA’s Partners Appreciation Day in Bacolod City, Negros Occidental.
