The University of Visayas’ (UV) main gunner, Jancork Cabahug made one of the most important decisions of his life after announcing that he is transferring to the University of the Philippines.

The 6’3’’ superstar forward once impressed against the UP Fighting Maroons last March 8 during the Philippine Collegiate Champions’ League battle for third showdown.

Cabahug dropped 21 huge points on an astounding 8-out-of-14 shooting clinic while grabbing eight rebounds and dishing out three assists, impressing UP head coach Bo Perasol.

During his stint with UV, Cabahug led them to the 2018-2019 Cebu Schools Athletic Foundation Inc., (CESAFI) and defeated the Fighting Maroons to grab the bronze medal during the recent PCCL.

“I am grateful for all these experiences I have had with the team, but an opportunity was presented to me that gave me a chance to play and gain new experiences in a different league, with a different intensity and competitiveness,” said Cabahug.

The UV star will have to sit out for the UAAP Season 83 due to residency and will have three eligible playing years under UP.

“I think it’s just typical of me to have a Cebuano character in each of the teams that I have handled,” said UP head coach Perasol.
