ROXAS CITY, Capiz — The city government is conducting pre-vaccination registration for outbound Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) and seafarers from Roxas City to the different parts of the world.
The registration was conducted after the City Government was allocated Johnson & Johnson vaccines from the national government.
Mayor Ronnie Dadivas said the vaccines will be given to OFWs and seafarers who are about to return for work abroad within four months and are required specific vaccines such as Pfizer, Johnson & Johnson or Moderna.
The vaccination might be conducted next week, Dadivas said.
Last month, the first batch of Pfizer vaccines were allocated to outbound Overseas Filipino Workers (OFW’s), seafarers, and organ transplant patients.
Dadivas said the city government, in consultation with other concerned government agencies and private sectors, decided to give 125 doses of Pfizer vaccines delivered by the Department of Health (DOH) to the three sectors.
Dadivas said 110 doses will be reserved for OFWs and seafarers bound for USA, Europe, Canada and UAE, while the remaining 15 doses are intended for Organ Transplant patients.
The first to be inoculated are those who have plane tickets, working visas and contracts, with flights scheduled within four months.
Dadivas urged the said sectors to proceed to the Roxas City Hall ground and bring the following documents:
(a) Overseas Employment Contract
(b) Seaman’s Book for seafarers
(c) and other documents proving that he or she will be leaving for work abroad within four months.
“It’s a ‘first come, first serve’ basis and should be personal,” the mayor said.
Dadivas assured that there will be no favoritism in the administration of the vaccines.
