BACOLOD City – Executive Assistant Ernie Pineda said the City Government of Bacolod will not extend the permits of the vendors at the Bacolod public plaza, thus, they must vacate the area today, Jan 6, 2020.
Pineda said the vendors were given special permits to sell at the public plaza from December 3, 2019 to January 6, 2020 only.
Mayor Evelio Leonardia issued an executive order (EO) establishing the “Paskwa sa Plaza” at the Bacolod public plaza for the duration of the Christmas season.
As to the road clearing operations, Pineda said the City Legal Office-Enforcement Unit and the Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) are monitoring the downtown area to arrest vendors who continue to sell their wares in the area.
Pineda said there is no order allowing back the vendors in the downtown area but he admitted there are still vendors who play hide and seek with law enforcers.
