Bacolod City – Negros Occidental Vice Governor Jeffrey Ferrer said the provincial board remains united despite their varied political affiliations.
Ferrer issued this statement upon the assumption of Board Member Ryan Gamboa, who represents the Philippine Councilors League at the board
“At the [board], there is no Love Negros or United Negros Alliance (UNegA). We are united in supporting the programs of Gov. Eugenio Jose Lacson,” he pointed out.
He added that during the regular sessions of the board “there is no partisan politics.”
There is no reason for board members to fight over political lines, Ferrer said, adding that he has seen cooperation among board members since he sat as presiding officer
Gamboa completes Love Negros’ (LN) control of the three sectoral representatives of the board.
Board Members Jovie Pepillo of the Association of Barangay Captains and Pocholo Yuvienco of the Sanggunian Kabataan along with Gamboa are all allies of LN which is now the dominant party in Negros Occidental.
Gamboa said LN’s dominance “is a good sign of the trust and confidence of the people and officials of Negros in Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson.”
“This is a good step in the right direction solidfying the merger of the two parties,” Gamboa said.
