Vice President Leni Robredo has urged her supporters to focus on her campaign after a rival candidate lagging behind her in the surveys asked her to withdraw from the presidential race.

In a Facebook post on Sunday night, Robredo thanked those who defended her after Manila Mayor Isko Moreno, Senator Ping Lacson, and former defense chief Norberto Gonzales hit her camp during a press conference on Easter Sunday.

“Blessed Easter again to everyone. Alam kong maraming nasabi na ngayong araw. Ang iba nainis, ang iba walang pakialam, at ang iba nagalit. Nagpapasalamat ako sa lahat na dumipensa,” Robredo said.

Moreno, Lacson, and Gonzales held a briefing in Manila Peninsula to reiterate that they would not drop their presidential bid amid allegations that the Robredo camp was trying to make them quit the race.

The Manila Mayor had called on Robredo to make the “supreme sacrifice” by withdrawing from the race as he pitched himself and other candidates as the alternatives. Meanwhile, Lacson and Gonzales also criticized Robredo.

During the joint press conference,  Robredo’s spokesperson Barry Gutierrez said that the Vice President was with Sumilao farmers who marched from Bukidnon to Naga City.

Gutierrez said shortly after the press conference that they “wish every candidate who decides to push through to the end, only the best.”

“Perhaps, silence would have had more depth; at the very least, it would exhibit less self-entitlement, fragility, and toxicity,” he added.
