W. Visayas’ most wanted nabbed in Mindanao

The most wanted person in Western Visayas was arrested on the evening of June 6 in Cagayan de Oro City, Misamis Oriental.

Jomar Baldemor, 42, a construction worker, was apprehended on Harpy St., Barangay Kauswagan, Cagayan de Oro City.

Baldemor is a native of Barangay Cali, Dumangas, Iloilo, and was temporarily residing at Adela Subdivision, 13th Jasmin St., Cagayan de Oro City.

Members of the Regional Intelligence Division (RID) 6’s Special Operations Group, together with the Iloilo Police Provincial Office – Provincial Intelligence Unit (IPPO-PIU), Dumangas Municipal Police Station, and Carmen’s Police Station in Cagayan de Oro, arrested the suspect by virtue of arrest warrants for two counts of murder and attempted murder, docketed as Criminal Case Nos. 23-10645-A, 24-11219, and 23-10647, respectively.

No bail was recommended for the two murder charges, while P120,000 bail was set for the attempted murder case.

Judge Vicente Go of Regional Trial Court (RTC) 6, Branch 68, Dumangas, Iloilo, issued the arrest warrants on July 19, 2023, and Jan. 11, 2024.

Major Albert Francis Fortunado, RID-6 team leader, said the attempted murder and murder cases occurred in March 2022, while the other murder incident happened in January 2023. In both cases, the suspect has co-accused.

Fortunado did not discount the possibility that the suspect was involved in gun-for-hire activities.
