BACOLOD City – Zeaphard Gerhart Caelian, head of the Negros Occidental Provincial Disaster Management Program Division, said Thursday that the website where stranded Negrenses can register for help is free of charge

Caelian issued the statement amid reports there are sites asking for payment from Negrenses who wants to be repatriated to the province.

“It is free,” Caelian said.

He said some stranded Negrenses claimed they cannot register in the website unless they pay.

“We are not charging anything. There is only one website accepting registration of stranded Negrenses and it is free,” Caelian said.

He said that as of Thursday, 1,818 Negrenses and Bacoleños have registered in the site.

Caelian said more Negrenses will be repatriated but it would depend on the availability of quarantine centers.

“Whether they like it or not, they will have to be quarantined when they arrive here,” he added.

He also said that of the 53 Negrenses who were supposed to return to Negros on a Cebu Pacific sweeper flight Tuesday, only 46 were able to make it on the flight on Wednesday.

Caelian said seven passengers did not make it to the flight schedule due to their distance from the airport.
