Victor Wembanyama just boosted his chance of clinching the NBA Rookie of the Year award after tallying another rare stat line last February 13, 2024.

In just 28 minutes of playing time, the no. 1 pick during the latest Rookie Draft tallied a triple-double of 27 points, 14 rebounds, and 10 blocks, to help the San Antonio Spurs thrash the Toronto Raptors, 122-99, in the ongoing NBA regular season.

Wembanyama was all over the place against the Raptors and was a dominant force on both ends of the floor.

This is only Wembanyama’s second career triple-double in the NBA at just 20 years old. His first one came last January 11, 2024, where he recorded the league’s second-fastest triple-double in just 21 minutes of action.

Wembanyama tallied 16 points, 12 rebounds, and 10 assists during San Antonio’s lopsided 130-108 victory over the Pistons on the road.

It is still Russell Westbrook who holds the record for the fastest triple-double in NBA history after achieving the feat in just 20 minutes last 2014.

Wembanyama also became the youngest player in the NBA to earn a triple-double stat line without committing a single turnover.

This season, Wembanyama made it into an elite company after joining Denver Nuggets superstar Nikola Jokic and Indiana Pacers’ floor general Tyrese Haliburton as the only player to record a triple-double without a turnover.

During his triple-double performance against the Raptors, Wembanyama became the fourth rookie to record the stat line with blocks.

Wembanyama joined Mark Eaton, Ralph Samson, and former San Antonio Spurs franchise player David Robinson as the only rookies to achieve a triple-double with blocks.

The superstar rookie was also efficient on the offensive end as Wembanyama shot 10/14 from the field while draining two out of his four total attempts from the three-point line.
