More than PHP 42 million worth of illegal drugs were seized during monthlong police anti-narcotics operations in Western Visayas.
Records from the Police Regional Office (PRO) 6 revealed that operating units confiscated around 6.222 kilograms of shabu valued at PHP 42.3 million, along with 9 grams of marijuana worth PHP 1,105.
The operations, conducted between September 1 and 30, also led to the arrest of 312 drug suspects. A total of 230 police operations were carried out during the month.
The Iloilo City Police Office reported the highest volume of drug seizures at PHP 9.93 million, followed by the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (NOCPPO) at PHP 8.87 million and the Bacolod City Police Office at PHP 8.29 million.
In terms of arrests, NOCPPO led with 99, followed by the Iloilo City Police Office with 73, and Bacolod City Police Office with 61.
Other provincial offices reported the following arrests: Iloilo Police Provincial Office with 30, Capiz Police Provincial Office with 18, the Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit 6 with 16, Aklan Police Provincial Office with 6, Antique Police Provincial Office with 5, and Guimaras Police Provincial Office with 4.
Brig. Gen. Jack Wanky, Western Visayas police chief, praised unit commanders and their personnel for their contributions to these achievements.
He emphasized that PRO-6’s commitment to combat illegal drug trade remains steadfast.
