A 52-year-old farmer, with pending rape accusations, was detained on the afternoon of March 10 in Dumarao town proper, Capiz.
Known as Eduardo, the individual hails from the same locality and is ranked as the fifth most wanted person in Western Visayas.
The arrest, executed by the Dumarao Municipal Police Station, Capiz Police Provincial Office – Provincial Intelligence Unit (CPPO-PIU), Dumalag Municipal Police Station, and Capiz Maritime Police Station, was carried out under an arrest warrant for three counts of rape in Criminal Case Numbers C-31-24, C-32-24, and C-33-24.
The warrant was issued by Judge Kristine B. Tiangco-Vinculado of the Regional Trial Court 6 (RTC-6) Branch 16 in Roxas City on January 29, 2024.
Eduardo has been denied the possibility of bail.
In a separate incident on the evening of March 10, a 73-year-old man was also detained on rape charges in Barotac Viejo, Iloilo.
Alias Rolando has been accused of rape by carnal knowledge, with Judge Oscar Leo A. Billena of the Regional Trial Court 6 (RTC-6) Branch 70 in Barotac Viejo, Iloilo, issuing the arrest warrant.
Similar to Eduardo, Rolando has not been granted bail for his temporary release.
