Two of Western Visayas’ most wanted persons were arrested in separate police operations recently. While their cases are unrelated, both suspects were charged with rape.
The Police Regional Office (PRO) 6 identified the arrested fugitives only as alias Bryant and alias Ronnie.
Bryant, 41, a security guard from Sta. Barbara, Iloilo, was arrested around 5 p.m. on July 10 at Barangay Dungon B, Jaro, Iloilo City.
Members of the Iloilo City Police Station 7, together with ICPS1, apprehended Bryant by virtue of an arrest warrant for rape by sexual assault, docketed under Criminal Case No. 24-92109.
Judge Globert Justalero of the Regional Trial Court 6 (RTC-6) Branch 32, Iloilo City, issued the arrest warrant and recommended a bail of P200,000 for Bryant’s temporary freedom.
Bryant is the region’s ninth most wanted person.
Meanwhile, Ronnie, a 43-year-old farmer, was arrested on the morning of July 11 at Barangay Poblacion Ilaya, Panitan, Capiz.
The suspect is facing charges for three counts of qualified rape. No bail was recommended for his temporary liberty.
On July 10, PRO-6 accounted for 27 wanted persons regionwide. Of these, four were tagged as most wanted persons, while 23 were on the other wanted persons (OWPs) list.
