One of Western Visayas’ most wanted fugitives was arrested during a police anti-narcotics operation on the afternoon of Feb. 1 in Pavia, Iloilo.
The suspect, identified as alias Juny, 44, of Barangay Ungka 1, Pavia, Iloilo, was apprehended at Purok 4, Pavia.
Members of the Pavia Municipal Police Station, along with the Maritime Police – Iloilo, PNP Anti-Kidnapping Group 6, and NAVFORCEN – Naval Intelligence and Security Group 6, arrested Juny by virtue of a warrant for murder under Criminal Case No. 25-93660.
Judge Victorino Maniba Jr. of Regional Trial Court Branch 39, Iloilo City, issued the arrest warrant on Jan. 30, 2025.
No bail was recommended for his temporary release.
Reports identified Juny as the prime suspect in the April 2024 murder of Nato, 56, a resident of Barangay Ungka II, Pavia.
Meanwhile, the Iloilo Police Provincial Office (IPPO) vowed to maintain its unwavering commitment to tracking down fugitives in the region.
Records show that Juny ranks as the third most wanted person in Region 6.
